Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It's been a while since I've posted anything on here but the past couple of weeks I've felt different than I ever have before and it has been really scary. I have always had social anxiety and anxiety in general, but it's always felt pretty much the same for me, although come out in different ways. Well it had gotten worse and eventually lead to depression for the first time in my life. So I attempted to take Zoloft 5mg and did so for only about 2-3 months. It helped with the anxiety some but I felt like it really blunted me and my emotions. So with the okay of my doc and psychologist, I stopped taking it. I was doing okay and felt pretty back to normal and didn't have the depression anymore after I stopped, but gradually I started feeling not myself. These are some of the symptoms and the best way I can describe it: feeling very 'out of it', disconnected, unable to focus, grasp information, hazy, delayed, dazed, forgetful and somewhat complacent. And it's like for some reason, my social anxiety is a little better than normal because in some ways I've stopped caring about what people think. Not always, but more than I have in the past. I'm 35 years old, and am a single mother to 2 children. So I'm familiar with the hardships and stress that come along with this, the lack of sleep, etc. I know all of this plays a part, but it always has and I've never felt this strange. My psychogist thinks a lot of it is due to my job. I'm working an office job in a pretty unforgiving environment of people and I have disconnected myself at work in some ways to get through it, but not overly so. But I still don't see why the sudden changes and strange feelings. I find myself asking people if I seem okay or any different and usually they say no, but I'm still not sure. I find myself getting ready to ask or answer a question and kind of zone out and forget what I'm saying or where I was going with my point. Or I'll be texting someone and having to fix what I'm typing or taking forever to text something that I would't think twice about before. I'm so scared and don't know what else to do. I've thought about seeing a neurologist but I just don't know that will do any good, and someone telling me to see one confirms there is something wrong with me. Has anyone experienced this before or have any feedback? I just don't know where it came from and why the changes. I want to cry about it but can't really do that either. My overall physical health is average and yes, I could get more sleep. But even the days I get enough sleep, I still find myself feeling this way. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. And I'm not going to try any more meds as I worried this was part of what started all of my worrying over this, but my psychogist assured me being off the meds for this long shouldn't be causing any trouble. (I'm even freaking out b/c this is so long and I'm sure I sound ridiculous!)

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

As for me I have a tendency to over analyze my and feelings... And I have to tell myself I am not my feelings.
My Therapist recommended I read the book "The Feeling Good Handbook" Written by David Burns. It has some insight full information on the subjects of Anxiety and Depression and Cognative Therapy.
Perhaps you might want to check it out. It has some homework exercises, and different techniques he has used in his practice when working with people dealing with the depressions and anxiety.
I am not a Doctor or even that book smart but I did get some usefull information that was helpful..
