Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

my depression continues to linger. every effort i make to pull out of it has hit one snag or another which caused me to spiral back down that sucking black hole of depression. nothing absolute or dramatic. just enough to discourage and keep me down.
i have started "praying the abc's." the only diff between my abc prayer and the song i learned as a child is the closing line. the prayer goes, "now i've prayed my abc's. please send back the letters that i need."
the abc prayer is based on the parable of a child praying in the woods. the parable ends with the child telling the inquisitive adult, "i don't have the words, so i just recite the alphabet. god knows which letters to take."
yo! ! ! big boss in the sky! ! ! can you share those letters with me? wtf is going on with me? how do i pull out of this one?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Here's hoping the letters swing into your hand and pull you where it feels better.
There is this song called Brainwashed” by George Harrison that includes a chanted Sanskrit prayer. I find myself randomly chanting it sometimes when, I’m, I don’t know, not feeling particularly grounded I suppose:
Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Mahadev
Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare
Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadev
Hare Hare Hare Hare Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare
Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Roughly translated, it means something like: Surrender to Shiva, Parvathi’s Lord
Shiva is the destroyer of ignorance
The Great Lord
The Eternal Lord
Chanting it in this repetitive almost singing manner kind of helps me soothe that internal itch I can’t seem to scratch. I think my breathing and voice tone creates a vibration in my body that is really calming.
Anyway you praying the ABCs really resonated with because it seems similar in some way. I get it.
Hoping you find some relief.

learning foreign songs/chants/prayers is often beneficial for me. reaching beyond my established lexicon broadens my perception mightily.
thank you for the advice, greeneyes. pro league, as always.
