Postpartum depression help?

Hi everyone, I am here for my niece. I felt very happy that she gave birth to a baby boy two weeks back. But now, she is going through postnatal depression and I feel so sad for her.
Her baby is exceptionally cute and charming. A smile from a newborn would make everyone happy. But she is showing some symptoms of anxiety, crying episodes, and irritability. We thought she would change after some days but it is still continuing. I talked with her since she likes talking to me. We are best friends from our childhood and we know each other really well. So I don't want her to be in such a situation. While talking to her I didn't get the reason that is annoying her. I think postpartum depression would affect her health in future. She has different mood swings and doesn't take much care of her baby.
Has anyone been through this situation? I heard about postpartum depression counseling, medication and support groups here in Toronto. What are your thoughts on taking her to postpartum depression counselors? Welcoming kind replies. Thanks.

heavens yes. :) She has to figure it out, or baby will suffer. I would take her to the doctor first I suppose, and discuss the situation. Doctors see this all the time and are very helpful regarding getting her to the next step, which could be counselling or could be medication, but that is a question for the professionals.

This is very common and mummy and baby will have a much better time if it's looked into and sorted out quickly. :)

Three things to include with doctor, regular daily social activity, and doing something that connects to her as an individual every day. The hormone levels fluctuate so wildly that you lose all feeling and balance easily and it makes it even harder to see that there is a problem. I hope you get her help fast, it will help so much! Your niece is blessed to have you as a support in her life! The other responses indicated having her speak with her Doctor, and I would have to agree with that! Adjusting to a new baby takes time and understanding. It also helps to realize that you are not the only one feeling that way. Thank you for being such an encouragement to your niece, I am praying for her!

    Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job.  It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it.  Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown.  There was a full length mirror in the changing room.  I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like.  It was a reality check.
