Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

AKA Irrational Fears
My Daddy was a man ahead of his time. He started his homeschool "Sex Education Program" in the 50's while his peers were fighting for the right to get double beds for married couples past the Hollywood censors of the McCarthy Era. I am the fifth of eleven siblings. His program was well established by the time I was born in 1954. Carrying the principles of his Sex Education Program into the elementary schools of the early 60's was nothing shy of repetitive trauma for Minnie Me. By the time my HS graduating class of 1972 was turning their tassels, I was a drug addicted prostitute, running in phobic hysteria from one freak show to the next. I celebrated my should-have-been graduation with a nearly successful suicide attempt which ushered in the start of a long, hard recovery. Works still in progress.
In professionally guided psych workshops, I learned to treat a phobia like a phobia, regardless of what the target of my irrational fear is. I have nary a doubt that I learned more from my peers in these workshops than I did from the pros who facilitated the workshops. Those pros were quite unanimous in their beliefs that learning more from your peers than your teachers is both natural and desireable.
The marshal law of Coronaville has my phobic responses escalating off the charts. The majority of the tools acquired from 40 odd years of psychotherapy are Closed For Corona. I feel like the mute Minnie Me who couldn't bear to return to fifth grade the day after she tried to give her teacher a blow job during math class. The newest bodies of law underway for ? ? ? What are *They* calling the partial and highly conditional reopening of businesses? Is it safe to take my 3 young orphans on a family outing yet?
I'm not quite sure what I am reaching for here. Reality checks needed. I'm losing ^it^. Wasted away again in Coronaville.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
We've been using plastic kiddie pools and water slides. Academic summer has yet to arrive and the kids are already bored with them. They sure miss their swimming lessons.
Commiseration from fellow foster parents welcome.
Please no parenting advice.
For the young one - parks? Can you go there for some time out of the house and some room to run around in. Pools should be opening soon. And movie theaters should be open soon also. There will always be a threat from Covid but you are young and your children are also. both in low-risk groups for any issues with Covid. I plan on getting out there but carefully, slowly, and with a mask on.
Parks are CFC. Closed For Corona/COVID-19. Nor am I young. The Powers That Be have me listed as **At Risk** because of my age.
Repeat. Please no parenting advice.
We have a substantial team of teleconferencing social workers who are already on that job. I am working to follow the advice of those paid professionals. Following the advice of all those teleconferencing social workers is not the easiest job I have ever had thrust upon me.
