However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

life is what happens while you're busy making other plans ~ john lennon (beautiful boy)/allen saunders
planning is a compulsive passion of mine. i often wonder if it is more compulsion than passion, but i lack an accurate measuring stick for the comparison. by whatever name or measure, i am good enough at planning that i have even been paid good money for the whatchmacallit.
when i started formal psychotherapy in 1972, the name which penetrated my obsessive drive to escape the throwaway kid camps was, "running to the future." my drive to forget my past and escape the present was fierce enough that i was blind, deaf and dumb to my personal realities. i was determined to write my own realities. alas, life was not overly cooperative in following my brilliantly composed scripts. the powers that be appeared hell-bent on teaching me humility on this score.
in the decades since, i have learned how to pray and have come to call myself, "a prayer warrior." i still plan even more compulsively than i smoke, but no longer take it so seriously. "other p-wording, boss. thy will be done." taken with a proverbial grain of salt, i believe my planning talent is a good thing. at the very least, it gives me something to do during those idle moments i might otherwise spend catastrophizing and agonizing. at best, i am the one you can count on to have a first aid kit handy. taking frequent moments to listen for the quiet voice saves me from the disastrous frustrations of disappointed expectations.
here on my little ship of fools, we have a busy weekend planned, ranging from breakfast at mcdonald's playscape to the second anniversary of the farmer's market hubs and big bro have been heavily involved in, to commisurating with the anxieties attached to trump's return to office. in my circles, the immigration anxieties are through the roof. or is that through the tejas? whatever. . .
the crew members are awakening. it is time to do the do. here's hoping. . . just p-wording. . . other p-word, boss.
thanks for the ramble space. just venting.

I've also had to come to terms with some things the past couple
of days and I feel glad about my work here and with my therapist
and what we've all achieved! :) I have fallen from a personal pride
outlook to a greater pragmatism and motivation for what I want.
I am not habitually a planner - but I do plan for the week, usually.
Have a great day!
is it silly that the hard lessons in humility life has used to teach me that balance have left me a tad bit stuperstitious? i seriously do call my planning, "p-wording." i frequently life my eyes to the sky and say, "the other p-word, boss. just praying. . ."
