Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Can anyone offer any good advice on ways to overcome negative self-talk? I've tried some relaxation techniques, which calm me down while I'm doing them, but once I'm done, the anxiety creeps right back in. Sometimes I wish I could escape my body to get away from my brain because it doesn't ever seen to want to turn off.
Over the last few days, anytime I have calmed down, I end up thinking about something that keys me right back up. I can't live like this forever. :(

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

Sometimes, we forget to treat ourselves naturally, and we get into a stuck motor moment...so doing something different to help move it back and forth until it unsticks gives us a way to learn and be more comfortable with changing it when needed.
Best wishes.
I started questing my beliefs such as where did I get a certain negative message (i.e. you are not good enough....life is hard......you are unlovable.....nobody cares......and so forth). I got to the root of the negativity that gave birth to anxiety and panic attacks. I combated my negative thoughts and self talk by replacing it when I catch myself with positive messages. Also when I know where the belief came, I counter it with a new belief (i.e. I'm unlovable with I am lovable). I say I am lovable until I believe it and I find reasons to why I am lovable :)
Hang in there and keep working at it (fake it til you make it).
It takes a lot of work and being consistent, but eventually it sinks in.
Wishing you the best (((((((((Hugs))))))))))
I hope this finds you well.
(Meaning, when U open this you feel not so bad. :)
One thing in your opening post caught my attention. You used the word, "forever." When a person is a wee bit upset, he or she has a poor grasp of time. Four times I've had an upset in my life. Painful upset. Once I wondered if I'd make it. A second time, I had thots.
/ But I struggled and got through. During the crisis I'd see no change coming, and assumed there WAS none headed my way.
Hehe, little did I know. Practitioners and researchers -- in emotional health -- had a different idea.** When I got hold of one worth his salt, I found I had someone to talk to. Whom I had lacked before.
