Is it normal to experience numbness in your face when you have anxiety? Does this ever happen to anyone else? It freaks me out :(

I get that often, I never really even thought about it until you mentioned it. I guess I considered it almost normal that I didn't even notice. I don't think its anything to really worry about.

yes, unfortunatly. i am sitting at the computer now with numbness in my face. i can accept it now because a year and a half ago i went to the emergency room after having numbness in my arms, hands face and scalp. they kept me overnight ran a bunch of tests, did a cat scan and came up with nothing. i even did a stress test where they do an ultra sound of your heart. nothing! so now, unless it really feels like the big one, i just accept it and try to relax. i work in construction and recently got so stressed out that i told my boss i needed two weeks off just to chill. he said no way. i said i had to have the time off regardless and would be taking it. he softened a bit after that. went to my family doc and he got me back on zoloft. helping a little. the other thing is when i was in the hospital i asked the doc there if i could take a muscle relaxer for the stress. he said OK. I will take one half of a skelaktin before bed once or twice a week. really not much but it does help with the numbness in my face hope this helps

Yes, it is normal, it is part of the fight/flight response. Blood will move away from the face and extremities and into the muscles and vital organs in preparation for fight/flight. It is a defense mechanism. It is also why your hands also get get cold and tingly during anxiety/panic. It is caused by the rapid release of adrenalin and cortisol. Adrenalin so you can fight or flee and cortisol which acts as a pain killer so you can still flee if not severely wounded. This would be all well and good if you were really in danger, but you're not. Repetitive thought patterns since your first attack have conditioned your mind to thinking you're in danger when you're not. It is all about fear of having another attack.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
