Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Little back story, I'm 35 yr old mom of 3 boys (10-15) and I'm afraid if something doesn't give I'm going to lose everything. Since Sept/Oct i have been battling daily with im not sure what...i feel the need to control even the littlest thing that i shouldnt need to control, very impatient with everyone, short, down right bitchy if things even have a small unexpected hiccup. I'm starting to recognize that this is becoming a much bigger issue...i honestly don't know ehat exactly has changed...i always used to be happy and not let things bother me, but any more nothing seems to bring me anything but panic attacks and tears, even minuscule things send me into a full blown meltdown. I don't know what to do...I am anti-pharmacy, a regular mmj user, and really apprehensive about getting put on drugs...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

In the end, to be functioning is what you and your family need for you to be able to do. I went on medicine, started cognitive behavior therapy (cbt) with a lot of homework assignments to have done before the next office visit. The best part, keeping a journal that helped me to see patterns, cycles, and find what works best when. In order to be the best you can be, you have to take care of you! first.
I wanted to say I think this is incredible I stumbled upon what you wrote. I too am a 35 year old mom of three boys. My whole life I've struggled with anxiety mostly and a little depression. Now that I have so many more changes in life, plus elderly parents who moved closer to me who need constant help, I felt like I started cracking. I felt sick to my stomach all the time and constantly anxious about all of life's responsibilities. I started counseling last Sept and that has helped so much ! However, I had a break-down a month ago with severe and debilitating panic attacks. This is when I decided it was time to try medicine like an antidepressant. I was so anxious and depressed and crying all the time. My husband was taking care of everyone and I felt so much guilt and sadness. I decided that I wouldn't take medicine just for me. I would take it knowing I wanted a better mom available to my kids and a better wife available to my husband. I tried Wellbutrin and that made me more anxious. I'm now on Lexapro and feeling so much better even after a few doses. I feel like I'm a part of the life around me. I'm drowsy on it but hoping that subsides. At least I'm happy and the knot in my stomach is gone! I wanted to tell you I understand and know how hard it is juggling life and three boys. Start with weekly counseling ...if that doesn't change anything in a few months you may need a little extra boost with an antidepressant, even just for a little bit, to get you through this. Nothing is forever. Take a step for you and take a step for your family. I'm so so glad I did. Keep in touch.
