Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Good luck!
Playing football, or any other kind of sport, does not make a man "a man".
My husband and my sons are not into traditional competitive sports at all. They tried different sports - my hubby tried kickboxing and soccer and football. My oldest son tried soccer and basketball and tennis and swimming. My youngest tried soccer and BMX biking. Nothing really "stuck" with them. They didn't enjoy it and they weren't really that good at it from a competitive point of view.
But they kept trying different things. My husband decided he just really isn't into sports at all (he doesn't even like watching sports on TV), so he started focusing on computers, math, and now he's into engineering. He's what I guess you might call a "geek" but let me tell you - geeks are sexy! :) We've been together 21 years, and I didn't marry him for his money if you know what I mean! ;)
My boys kept trying out different things, too, and they still do. My oldest is now into racing and cars. He's going to school to study them and dreams of racing them professionally.
My youngest found a "sport for non-jocks" called Ultimate. He wasn't really any good at any other sport he tried, but somehow he's like a fish in water when he plays Ultimate. It seems to be a common theme among Ultimate players. They are sort of wired differently. They are incredibly athletic, and they train harder than the football team at our high school, but they just are kind of not your typical jock. And they don't play with pads and helmets like the football players do. Sometimes it can be brutal! You have to be tough and a little crazy to play Ultimate. :)
My point here, is that you should just keep trying and looking until you find something that feels right for you. It doesn't matter whether you are a man or a woman. Just keep exploring until you find whatever it is that is fun for you and that you feel "clicks". Maybe there is a sport out there for you - keep looking! Or maybe sports aren't your thing, and there is something else out there waiting for you to find it. So keep looking. :)
I can tell you that the relationships I have in my life have had a much greater impact on my happiness than anything I did then. You have to find your own talents and enjoy what you do well.
