Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Does anyone have their anxiety to a high right before bed or right after waking up? I managed to get my anxiety to a low recenty and I felt so great about it- but then I started having weird dreams that led me to overworrying about why I have them so much more frequently and vividly now. They're not so much nightmares but uncomforatble dreams that make me question if they have meaning or just random ones -but whats the point of having them. Right before I go to bed which started a little over a week ago, I stay awake a little longer even though I'm tired and wanting to sleep but thoughts of of anxiety such as (when will it go away, will i overcome it, how will it continue to affect me) courses through my mind and keeps me up. Then I overworry about the reoccurring dreams I have which adds more to the anxiety and brings me to tears. I sometimes manage to sleep well but then when I wake up- I sometimes remember the werid dreams I have and overthink about why and what and get fearful of so many things? Ive been on medication of venlflaxine or effexor 37.5 mg extended release one a day for the past 2 months since late June and it somewhat helped with my first set of symptoms when I developed anxiety and bouts of depression, but it also brought new ones in which the first 3 weeks were absolutley horrible... I still question whether or not its best to get off of it. My therapist suggested i talk to my physician of tapering it off sooner or switching to a new one. I hear from some people medication works, and for some it doesn't after they get off it they're glad they get off it as it made thigs worse. I didn't know what exactly I was going through when I first began having anxiety so I was desperate for some relief and reluctantly agreed to be put on medication when I still had some reservations. I have good days still and bad days so I'm just stuck at what I should do? Any advice? Please and thank you and enjoy your day!
