Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I am new to the group, but I just wanted to post about what has been going on. I started a job at a child welfare agency and I thought it would be a great experience. I have learned thhat my days are filled with anxiety. Every morning I dread going to work and when I talk to my significat other or family, they do not understand the stress and anxiety levels it causes. They state that I will get through it, but I am not sure if I can. Everyday I think about quitting becaaue I am unahppy and feel that I am going to vomit or can't breathe. Friday's are the only days thhat I want to go into work because it's the weekend and I get to get away from my reality. This morning,I woke up drenched in sweat, felt like I was going to vomit, could not control my breathing, and my heart rate was extremely high. I have started to learn that this has become an everyday experince for me. The night before work I stress out because I just do not want to do the job it is physically taking a negative toll on me. Unfortynately, I signed a contract and have to work at this job for an entire year. I am on month three and If I continue to have these feelings at night and in the morning, I feel thhat I am going to burn myself out. I also have a strained relationship with myb supervisor. I am fairly new to the job and am still learning the ins and outs. Whenever I go to supervison I feel that I am diosappointing her when I am putting in full effort day in and day out. At this point, I feel lost and have no idea what to do.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I replied to your other post, and you have a lot on your plate, and no support from your boyfriend even.
Can you talk to a therapist? Not trying to put more on your busy schedule, but I find talking to my therapist one time per week helps me to get everything out and I feel better.
Try to slow down. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. You are very young and should be having fun in your life right now. See what you can cut back on that is giving you stress.
Keep writing it out. It helps to write/journal.
did making this post help any?
if so, a safe place to sort your anxieties of the day might be a good place to start in figuring out what to do about those anxieties. i hope you'll feel safe doing precisely that, right here in this very forum.
welcome aboard. listening. . .
you are not alone.
Glad you found this safe place to write it out and get support, understanding, acceptance, and better balance.
You are working a new job, learning the 'unwritten' rules of standards through hot seat fly by night experience.
Your supervisor is working with a trainee on probation and trying to keep the workload moving at a pace that shows improvement steadily.
There is no way to have a 'positive' day without a plan to release work 'stress' from 'distress' levels daily prior to stepping into the home.
Work is professional, home is personal.
Continue to write it out daily. Separate your work from home. Necessary to give your anxiety a safe way to work for you in a balance that provides protection.
I would try to ask yourself, and try to be as objective as possible, what you are unhappy with or what you don’t like. Make a list. Sit down and write it out. Sometimes doing that can bring about more clarity so you can make more informed decisions. It can also help you see a clearer path to getting a plan for how to move forward or find solutions.
