Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello there,
I'm 20 and I was diagnosed bipolar 2 in november. I still haven't really grasped the fact that I have it despite having meds now and trying to help it. I'm currently in my down swing and I feel it coming on stronger each day. Along with the diagnosis of Bipolarity, I was also diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder. I feel like my friends don't really want to hear my problems and fears and constantly fear I'm a nuisance to people. My mom had been told about this group forum to help talk through issues. I'm just trying to find some relief. I can feel a panic attack around the corner, I feel so anxious about everything I say, do, eat, my physical condition, everything and I'm really trying to make it better but things aren't really going in my way. Anything might help.
Thanks

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
And just to add - what I used to think of as anxiety attacks were actually an expression of my bipolar and the route to fix that is by sorting the bipolar meds. While most of what you will read says that manic/ hypomanic states are aggitation and euphoria in some cases you get the aggitation / anxiety in with the depression - this is called mixed state / dysphoria.
My friends and family also get tired of hearing about my psych issues. They aren't the most interesting topics of conversation in my repertoire. I believe they care, but . . . It do get weary and they have the good fortune of not fully understanding, anyway. Ya can't really understand unless you've experienced the inside view. I'm surely not going to wish that understanding on anybody I love. . .
In addition to saving the wear and tear on my closest relationships, maintaining a peer support network to help me sort the daily tedium of living with psych issues also gives me the benefit of fellowship and insights from people who DO have that inside view. It's not a cure, but it helps.
You're not alone, Jhawk. Hope you find steadying companionship here.
I was also diagnosed with bipolar years ago. Mine is managed. I don’t even think about having it anymore. I take my pills as directed. There’s really nothing to it. Don’t over think this. Lots of people have it and you’d never know. I’ve told very few friends about it because it doesn’t concern them.
The key to bipolar management is the medication - therapy may or may not be needed - but wait until you've been on the meds and are stable first.
I'd strongly recommend you talk to us abiout bipolar on the bipolar board to get input from people who have walked the walk.
Anxiety is not a "one size fits all" diagnosis. It does NOT provide a treatment plan in general. What is known for everyone is that anxiety is natural. By it being natural, it can be treated natural.
What this does is allow for those medical conditions such as bipolar, depression, and other conditions associated with anxiety to be treated with knowledge that it may increase anxiety, thus pushing into "panic" mode our natural desire to find a balance in the moment.
Making the time to be on the bipolar board will give you tips, understanding, and hope as you make your path with bipolar medical condition.
Anxiety is more general ideas on how to be "in the moment" and pattern your thoughts in a more direct "in the moment" process. Over-thinking is common, and the best way to stop it is to move, to get your body and brain moving. Journal writing gives you the chance to see the patterns, which gives you ways to switch the thoughts.
Best wishes.
For many bipolar members religion has been a destructive rather than constructive force in their lives.
What it appears you are doing is forcing your world view on others. Please accept other people don't believe in dieities, souls etc.
It can be a roller coaster disease.
