Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

So lately my husband and I have had HORRIBLE luck starting backing in January. It all began with a doctor's visit finding out having kids wouldn't be easy, to us being stranded on the lake on a broken down boat for hours. To me getting very sick and ending up in the hospital and most recently us getting in a car crash.. these are all the major things..all this in 2018 and it's only june... all this bad luck has my anxiety through the roof. I'm nervous as to what's gonna happen next. I mean it's literally one thing after another. I have anxiety attacks often. The car crash has made it to where I'm scared to drive at night. I've never had anxiety until this year. I had my first anxiety attack at work, out of the blue. Wth. I feel like the anxiety was all triggered by the doctors appointment bc we were shocked by the news.. weren't really expecting the news we got. Ever since then I've been real anxious. So I'm new to this whole anxiety thing. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with anxiety and the attacks? It would be greatly appreciated especially with the luck were having! Lol

I've suffered anxiety for my entire life. I can't even imagine being new to anxiety, but the shock of it sure looks tough for the cases of adult onset I've witnessed. Chronic anxiety is rough enough.
My own first step toward actually dealing with my own anxiety was building my honest awareness of what is going on and opening myself to reality checks from my therapy support network. It sounds to me like you are working that step right now with this very post.
My brain doesn't work so well under the influence of anxiety, so I go for simplicity within the therapy tools I use to remedy the symptoms. My longest running classic is, "Just Breathe." I tend to hold my breath and/or hyper-ventilate when I am anxious. *Just* regulating my breath works wonders. Did i say *Just?* it's allot harder than it sounds.
Breathe, exercise, staying hydrated, using a journal to help figure the pattern of thought and ideas to distract those usual pattern of thoughts.
Best wishes.
option. Writing in a journal helps some people. So does
seeing a therapist for a short time..
