The biggest difference between not growing up with 'MONEY' and growing up in "MONEY' is how it's viewed.
Yes it's expensive from your view since you want to 'pay back', rather than do that, consider ways you can pay forward.

The truth is there are a lot of people with money who are kind, decent, people who don't judge us for these things.
Your fiance's family accepts you for who you are. It's only you putting yourself in the less than role.
You deserve to have nice things. It's okay to accept a gift. Yes some people out there are takers, but it's okay to accept a gift and be grateful. You don't have to pay them back but you could always pay them back in kindness or doing something nice for them. It doesn't need to be money.

So I try to humbly remember where I came from to stay grounded, to remember what the struggle is like so I can remain compassionate towards others who struggle. But we don’t have to reject joy and experiences now simply because of growing up poor. Let yourself off the hook.
Accept the generosity of others and remind yourself you are worthy. Not everything has to be transactional.
Survivors guilt is a thing too when you get more money.
