Need Alprazolam (Xanax)

The nurse practitioner who prescribes my psych meds can be difficult to deal with.  Her office hours aren't great and her policy about needing 7 days to fill a script sucks.  I stay with her for several reasons.  For one, she was instrumental in getting me on disability.  Unfortunately, she made the mistake of weaning me off of Risperidone and putting me on Latuda but I had a nervous breakdown because of it.  I stay with her because I like her receptionist and because it's easier than looking for someone else and getting my meds prescribed.  On Saturday, I realized that I only had a little Alprazolam left.  She should automatically order it but as of yesterday afternoon, she had not.  She has not responded to my email from Saturday.  Last night was the first night in a very long time that I didn't have the benefit of this medication.  I had a hard time falling asleep and I woke up 3 times and had a really strange dream.  I finally got up around 3:30.  I called her office yesterday and the receptionist said she would tell the nurse practitioner that I need the medicine.  Ugh!  Today is a gym day and I hopefully can pick up my prescription too.  The biggest Planet Fitness in NJ is right next to ShopRite.  Wish me luck!

I'm sorry the nurse practitioner did not call in your Xanax.
Call them again this morning.
Be the "squeaky wheel".

Maybe ask the pharmacist if you can get a few pills until
you get your prescription.

Thanks Ladies! It is possible that she called the prescription in on Wednesday after I called but I had been to 3 towns and was too tired to travel 25 minutes to the pharmacy. I also needed to do my weekly shopping. I didn't know that not taking it would cause such a problem with sleep. Anyway, I got the prescription and went to the gym. I slept really well but woke up at 3 a.m. to use the bathroom. I have to go into work 2 hours early so I was afraid to oversleep. So I stayed up. I boiled eggs so I can make egg salad for lunch. I tried to renew my registration but the application was under maintenance. Darn it! I did pay my credit card. I am going to a yard sale on the way home. There will be 17 families on one property. Fun!

Where I live, the doctors all want the pharmacy to initiate the refill. So the pharmacy sends something either via email or fax. They do not want patients calling the office to ask for a refill. Consider trying to have the pharmacy initiate the refills. I don't know, just mentioning this.

Many pharmacies have websites or apps where they will also text us that the prescription is ready. We are waiting on a prescription from Walgreens, many days, for my husband. He calls but gets put on hold. This pharmacy is extremely busy, they may do 1000 or more prescriptions per day.

Good morning! Girl, the yard sales were a bust. Hasty, the nurse practitioner does not respond when the pharmacy faxes her. She told me that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I know it can be a pain sometimes. For me it’s the pharmacy.

Thanks Marian! I guess I have to be more cognizant of when I need a script. The difference in my sleep is unbelievable.
