Whenever I'm anxious I get extremely nauseous and I end up gagging. Its extremely embarrassing. Any of the meds I have tried has helped so I decided about 2 months ago to stop taking them. I can't stand the nausea and gagging tho its ruining my life. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do. I take zanex when it gets bad but it doesn't seem to work all that great :( help I can't live like this anymore

I can certainly empathize with you on the nausea-related anxiety. Part of it might be acid reflux, which is triggered in certain anxious situations. As far as medications go, I was prescribed for a limited period an antacid and something called ondansetron. The latter helps to prevent nausea and vomiting, but it's also a pretty serious medication, e.g. used frequently by chemo patients. It can also cause drowsiness, much like your Xanax can do. If you're considering taking any meds for your nausea, you'll definitely want to talk to your physician.

Ginger anything for me. From ginger ale to ginger gum. They sell the same ginger gum (expensive for a pack of gum but works at CVS) .

I get the same thing... It's terrible. Plus I get it from the anxiety that I'm gonna get it in front of someone... The only thing that works for me is gum or tums and neither are sure fire :/

I was getting it constantly when I was on Lexapro. I switched to Paxil and haven't had those issues since. However, when I was getting them I drank a LOT of ginger ale.

Good advice... I bought some altoids and ginger ale yesterday. The ginger ale sure tasted good. I don't have the gagging thing just the total loss of appetite and nausea : ( Ugh as if the anxiety isn't enough

I also have a severe case of what you described. Its very debilitating and embarrassing. I was prescribed Zolfran(ondansetron) and it works for the most part for the nausea but I still have trouble with curbing my own anxiety which causes the symptoms. I do eat a lot of peppermints and they do help....Im also looking into natural suppliments to curb the anxiety so I wont have to deal with being nauseous all the time. Its a very draining problem. OH! I'm brand new here and hope I can help and be helped.
