Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I'm in a bad state of anxiety right now and have been for about 2 weeks or so. I'm trying to get my 1st therapist appointment set up for next week. But I've been getting worked up and worried because of a couple things. It seems like my memory is terrible. I'm only 29 and I feel like my short term memory isn't great--I have to really think hard to remember things that just happened. And my long term memory has never been great. I feel like I remember 'this and that' from my childhood, but don't really have tons of memories. And my earliest was when I was 4 or 5. When I was growing up I wonder if part of me not remembering a lot was because I just didn't pay attention to certain things, I sort of just lived in the moment, etc. But when people talk about things and talk about their memory, it always seems like mine is terrible and it makes me really worried that something is wrong with my brain. (I know that sounds like a typical anxiety symptom and it may be, but I am really worried)
Also, these past couple of weeks, I've been just exhausted, and I'm not sure why. I have 2 kids--3 an d16 months, and I have been lacking sleep for a long time, but I've always managed it and felt the same, but not overly tired. I'm not sure why I'm so tired now? It's making me function less too. I have been to the doc and had blood work done not too long ago regarding my hormones, and it was fairly normal, but apparently my testosterone and estrogen were slightly high. But I'm scared there's something neurologically wrong with me and I may go back to the doc to see if I need a CT scan, or some head scan.
Does anyone else have experience here? Does it sound like something may be wrong with me?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

I was always in my head as a child too. That is why I have very few memories. It makes me kind of sad...but I was in my head all the time, not living in the moment and not doing the things you need to do to create lasting memories. I was always pretending and living in an imaginary world off by myself somewhere. It makes me sad now because there are a lot of memories lost forever...but I was happy in my little world so I guess its all okay. :)
And Lovnmthr--I'm so glad this post is helping you too! After reading all of these posts I thanked God for helping me find this site, it really makes me feel like I'm not the only one like me anymore, and that I'm 'normal' in the anxiety world, lol. I'm still trying to deal with my anxiety right now, but at least I know I'm not alone in this battle, and everyone here is so nice and helpful. I hope you get some relief from everyone's posts here, they are wonderful!
Make certain you are keeping hydrated.
Take time to relax, play, and smile each day.
Even if you are too wound up to sleep, turn down the lights, quiet the area, and close your eyes to feel your body relax.
Mental fatigue, exhaustion, memory fog are all part of anxiety levels being out of balance. Gentle movement, tapping toes will help you reduce the overwhelming sense of anxiety.
Hope you are feeling better.
I also agree that journaling is a great outlet. Even just writing down things to do for the next day and my grocery list make me feel better. Sort of takes things off my mind. I just need to make myself sit down and journal, that's the hard part, lol. Great ideas again though, thank-you!!
TheMoon, I hope your week gets better. Mine's been awful the past couple weeks too. My anxiety/sadness/fears have never ever been this bad. I hope I get to the bottom of it, and I hope you do too. Feel better!
Hugs to everyone.
