It seems I'm no longer able to enjoy my favorite music due to increased anxiety levels. My son, who was 30, passed away in September after a
long struggle with his bipolar illness, that lasted about 20 years.
Helping him during this time caused anxiety for me that increased as his mental health decreased. So, after about 15 years of helping him fight his illness, it took a lot out of me. I take no meds except for hypertension, because they make me sick.
I'm to the point now where I can't even listen to my favorite music because it makes my brain hurt, due to my increased anxiety levels. In the last month or two I've felt even worse. Because, now that my son is gone, he committed suicide in Cancun Mexico while on vacation with friends, the numbness of his death has lifted but I've sunk into a deep pit of anxiety, grief, remorse and loneliness.
Like I said, I'm at the point now where even listening to music hurts. And please don't say talk to a mental health professional, because their medications are intolerable to me.
Any suggestions?

Talk to someone that listens to what you need at this time. Tell them you don't want med's and just need someone to listen. As far as music goes, music is a healer. Maybe at this time your favorite music isn't tolerable but try something different. Relaxation music such as music one would listen to in a spa or while getting a massage. Also classical is great, piano music soothes in my opinion artist like Claude Debussy would be great to start Claire de Lune is my favorite piece by him. Maybe go to the library and check them out and see if maybe it's time for some new healing music. I wish you the best and am sorry to hear about your son.

find a therapist to speak to---do yoga-meditate-exercise, look into natural remedies for anxiety and depression (ie GABA 5-htp, st john's wort) eat to raise serotonin levels---bach remedies don't work--so dont' waste your money there!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
