You should try to keep a note book and keep notes as to what you were doing that day, what you did in the morning, what your automatic thoughts are, did you have a nightmare?
once you know what the trigger is you can deal with it bet ter. Good luck.

What has helped me recently is to take a deep breath then do 10 focus breaths and get on with my day.
I used to take meds but I don't at the moment and while morning anxiety feels awful on the meds, the mornings without them are gut-wrenching it hurts so bad.
When I wake up almost every morning I gasp and shoot straight up in the bed like I'm already panicking ( but I also have nightmares every single night).
I did notice that when I woke up in the mornings when I was on Zoloft I would nervously rub my feet together a LOT. A friend had a similar experience on Effexor (I think it was).
I read once that if you go to bed angry or sad, or happy etc., you wake up the same way. It makes sense that this would apply to anxiety as well.
It might be in your best interest to inquire about Klonopin when you speak with your doctor. It makes for a very calm sleep and you typically wake up still rather relaxed.
