Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello all, so i have been dating my boyfriend for a little under a year. 2 times a year we go long distant for a couple of months do to work and such reasons. When we go long distance he becomes extremly moody. All day today he has been telling me he misses me when he doesn't talk to me and all kinds of other stuff. Later in the eveing i strted stressing out about something that was totally out of my control at which point he had gotten all mad and said don't worry about it and its not my buisness, which is true but one way or another its going to effect me. He then proceeded to say ill talk to you tomorrow and basically hung up and that's the last time we will talk tonight. Sometimes his moodyness makes my anxiety so crazy and i wish icould just understand what he is thinking when he gets like this so it would be a little easier for me to back off and stop thinking so much about it.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I'd say for right now, focus on the good things. He said he missed you and wanted to talk to you, which is really sweet. It's good that you're working on keeping in touch when you're apart, so just remember that he's putting in the effort, too, and he did say he'd talk to you tomorrow, which means he obviously plans on talking to you tomorrow.
There are a couple of things to do with this. First, I'd bring it up when you're both calm and in a good (or, at least, neutral) mood. Tell him that his moodiness is giving you anxiety and that you just want to know if there is anything you can do to understand where he's coming from. Tell him you don't want to pick a fight, but you only want to do what you can to avoid upsetting him, if at all possible. And then, try to remember that people cope with things in different ways. While you may feel anxious about certain things, he might just be the type of person to be in a bad mood for a while. As your anxiety eventually lessens, so does his moods. It's probably not even about you, so give yourself a break.
Also, it may be good to also think of different ways and different people you could talk to about your stress, so that he doesn't feel like it's all heaped onto him (not sure if this is the case, but just saying that it's a good thing to remember that you can rely on other people in your support system). For instance, unpacking the things that stress you out here instead of with him could be a good start.
If you'd ever like to talk, you can always pm me! I'm good for lending an ear about stressful stuff. You can let it all out on me and then focus your time talking with your boyfriend about non-stressful things.
Just thought I'd offer.
Hope everything is better tomorrow.
I can see how his lack of communication and inability to express himself can really cause your anxiety to skyrocket. However, I can say that you owe it to yourself to not stress things that are out of your control. Nobody can ever control anyone else's thoughts or actions; therefore you should TRY not to stress it as best as possible. I know, that's definitely easier said than done.
Another small piece of advice is that you should try taking up other activities that are more positive, so that you can offer yourself some form of releasing the anxieties that you feel when you are in these situations. Sometimes, we become so overwhelmed or trapped in our thoughts, that we forget we have lives to live and there are plenty of positive things to do out in the world. Thankfully, we are given friendly reminders! :)
I hope things workout for you, and you can always message me whenever you are feeling anxious or just want to chat.
Best Wishes!!
