Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

proof unavailable, but methinks i am making progress in identifying the covidic blanket which has oppressed my grieving process. i still feel the guilt of needing to maintain masked social distances from the well-publicized grief of those who have lost loved ones to the virus, but the grief of losing a son to non-covidic means is finding its way out of the mandated social margins. at least, that is my prayer of the day as i muster the courage to unmask **out there**. at this stage, i am plying radical acceptance. it is what it is, whether i understand it or not.
today's read from "hope for today" is resonating loudly. reinforcement in progress.

"wow!" that word expresses such wonder, excitement, surprise and humility. it's a word i use often, yet pay little attention to its meaning or power. for example, this morning when i awoke, the sun was shining brightly, the sky was a deep and cloudless blue, and the autumn trees radiated gold, bronze, and copper. without thinking about it, my first reaction was to exclaim, "wow!"
i was struck by the fact that i had nothing to do with creating such a beautiful morning. that meant i probably had no effect on the rainy or snowy mornings, either. in fact, weather was one of the many things completely out of my control. this perception relieved me of responsibility for the weather, sunny or cloudy and reminded me of the many things in life over which i have no control. i can only let go and let them be. i felt grateful for this reminder and i began to count my other blessings as well. my job was to simply enjoy the morning and be grateful for the experience of beauty. the day was off to a great start.
now i take more notice of the "wow" moments in my life. i acknowledge my feelings, such as gratitude, joy and humility that come with appreciating something i didn't affect or create. for each person or event that crosses my path today, i thank my higher power. i accept that i don't have to work hard for this day's delights because they are a gift from my higher power. all i need to do is pay attention and enjoy my honest emotions as the day progresses.
thought for today
i take time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds me.

yesterday's literal rain was not enough to break the drought, but it was enough to make the air fresh and crisp this morning. think i'll go appreciate a wowful sunrise while i pray for the serenity to accept the things i cannot change.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Thank you for sharing this.
i have been processing a triple grief here. quadruple, if i include the pre-covid humanity. 1) the son who died. 2) the estranged son who is homeless and riding out the covidic marginalization on the streets. 3) the loss of being demoted from grandmother to mom.
it's allot to process. this meditation is proving to be a potent reminder to be gentle with myself and patient with the process.
i miss you, my beloved sons. both of you. i miss my beloved rivers.
The changes in our lifestyles can happen in a heartbeat.
Prayers and warm thoughts as well as hugs to you as you continue the lone journey of loss and finding the way through to a breathing acceptance.
Oh, the rivers, the changing flow are comforting.
yes, we are still grands, but the grandparent/child stereotypes have been serving as a harsh reminder of just how much we have lost in that fatal car wreck that ripped the middle generation from us. we still acknowledge the blood ties, but we have been calling ourselves, "a foster family." i think it more accurately describes our relationship.
prayers in progress that we may one day process the loss far enough to withstand the inaccuracy of the grand stereotypes. letting god lead the dance.
it's made my day a bit easier, too. there sure are allot of wonders worth appreciating in this amazing world we live in.
