Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. the foster kids are scheduled to leave for thanksgiving week with their maternal family this saturday. the living arrangements here on the farm have stabilized allot in the 2+ years the children have been here. the court settlement with the maternal family is a bit less than a year old and not so stable. the maternal family has been unreliable on their part of the settlement and have already threatened yet another court battle. worry that everything i say can and will be used against me in a court of law hangs over every question in the complex equation of loving the same children. shall we dance?
this morning's read from "meditations for people who worry" resonates as a timely reminder to stay solidly in the here and now.

peace
a crust eaten in peace is better than a banquet partaken in anxiety. ~aesop
one of the questions we worriers have to ask ourselves is if we can tolerate letting ourselves have some peace. are we willing to let go of the adrenaline rush and just let some peace settle into our lives for a few minutes?
there are many opportunities for peace in a normal day. waking up in the morning can be a quiet peaceful time. we can let ourselves identify with the sunrise.
sunrise doesn't happen all at once, you know, regardless of what the papers say. sunrise is a slow, gradual process of easing into the day. as night graciously, slowly begins to pull back its protective cloak of shadow, the faint coral lining begins to peek out, backlit by a million stars ready to bow to the warmth of the returning sun. night caringly moves in to offer rest to another part of the planet while the songs of birds pull in the color of morning.
the peacefulness of the process of morning is ours for the embracing.
i am surrounded by peace if i choose to see it.

maybe the greatest appeal here is that i am a big fan of sunrise. whether i am on my way to bed, just getting up or just rolling over, i haven't missed to many sunrises in my 67 years. i love this description of sunrise.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
i'm still building my tolerance for peace, all these years later. it remains all too easy to think myself into jail. works ongoing. . . i still need frequent reminding.
stepping small, praying big and letting god lead the dance, especially in regards to my departed son's in-laws. seeking the peace. just seeking.
