Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Little League season is off into its practice stages. Our team has had 3 practices here at the farm this Spring Break weekend. I can't seem to quit watching the driveway for the maskite enforcers to show up to enforce their mandates. As I try to relax and enjoy the proceedings, my paranoia keeps creeping up to insist, "**They** are out to get us. No fun allowed in Coronaville."
This morning's read from, "Courage to Change" seems pertinent to the theme. I'm not quite sure how, but ? ? ? Let the questioning begin.
Begin quote
Pre-therapy, forgiveness meant power to me. I could judge the offender --the person who wasn't doing what I wanted-- and then exercise my power by showing that I could rise above the offense and magnanimously bestow forgiveness. But I would never forget what had been done.
Today I know that forgiveness has nothing to do with power. It does not give me control. Forgiveness is simply a reminder that I am on equal footing with every other child of God. We all do good and noble things at times; on other occasions we may offend. I have no right to judge, punish, or absolve anyone. When I behave self-righteously, I'm the one who suffers --I separate myself from my fellow human beings, focus on others, and keep busy with hateful and negative thoughts. By taking this attitude I tell myself I am a victim, so I remain a victim. The most forgiving thing I can do is to remember that y job is not to judge others, but to think and behave in a way that lets me feel good.
Today's Reminder
I don't know the motives or circumstances that cause another's behavior. I do know that when I hold onto resentment and blame, I occupy my spirit with bitterness. Today I will find a more nurturing way to fill myself up.
You can't hold a man down without staying down with him. ~Booker T. Washington

The foster kids have missed the 3 practices --the first social events they have been allowed since the CPS custody shifted to here in August 2019, to visit with their maternal relatives in the Urban Covid center 3 hours to the south of here. With The Virus doing what viruses do and mutating around the globe, I fully expect a renewed and meaner round of mask mandates to shut us down early into the season. Dunno if forgiveness would be a useful tool here, or knot. Sorting. . . Testing. . .

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Here's to the 'forgiving is for our own well-being' which has brought me peace of mind and heart and allowed me to leave the hurt behind.
May today be comfortable for you.
Honestly, I appreciate the quotes and I do hope for your kids to get through these crazy times; I hope for all our kids the same.
Spiritual hugs! :)
