when we are in periods in our lives that demand very much from us, it is very important to counter all of those drains with even more positive input. what goes out of us must be replenished.
so, it is time to lavish those things upon you that will nurture you and make you feel much better. great food. playful exercise. laughter. anything that brings you joy.
for every tear that you are shedding, add one very good thing, perhaps a cheerful song, a hug from a friend, a day at the park.
this is the secret of those who have very stressful and demanding jobs. they are very skilled at nurturing themselves to keep themselves at optimum levels.
I ended up isolating myself because I kept thinking I could "sleep it off". Finally I went and got some help and some meds. It has taken me a while but the best advice I can give is very similar to what faithful here has written. Keep as positive as you can, don't watch the news, or other bad stuff that'll bring you down. Surround yourself with people that make you laugh, and if you spend a bit of time in a car or on a commute keep your music up beat.
Other than that, the best thing you can do is cut yourself some slack. Don't be so hard on yourself. Anyone in your boat would have a really hard time. If you don't already talking to a psychologist would probably do a little good.
