I've been taking lorazepam, on and off, for several years. I've always found it to be helpful. It's a step down from Xanax, but I've always thought it worked better, for me. Everyone reacts differently to different meds though, and the symptoms you're having are definitely known symptoms of lorazepam, although, I never experienced any of them, other than drowsiness. I would say, try a higher dose, but if you're experiencing nausea, then that probably isn't a good idea. You should tell your doctor about this and see if you can try something else.
