Hi my name is Kathy, anxiety out of this world this morning. I have been married over 42 years. (I was married young) When not with my husband, and raising my mood back up, my mind has me a lot younger. As for my body, I must be 100 years old. I married my mother. Not funny. I was 6 years old when I started wondering if my moother loved me. Over the Bipolar 2, PTSD, Anxiety, O.C.D. S.A.D. A.D.D. with in past too many years of a horrible depression. The first time I was in therapy I was 14 to 16. My therapist was great. I promised myself then I wouls be a therapist. When my youngest child was old enough to come home from school and be here alone. I went to College. With quitting High School I had my G.e.D. BUT STILL NEEDED A COUPLE CLASSES TO CATCH UP. Sorry about the caps. Almost 2 years later I was ordered to quit. Yes he is a controler. I had a wonderful psychiatrist for over 25 years. He certainly spent enough time with my husband, and me always having the DSM around we figured out what diagnosises my husband has. Let's just say in regular terms: Controller, Narcisacist, Verbal and emotional abuser. I would love to get out of here, but have not worked enough to get any kind of SS. No family to go to as far as siblings. My only kid (1 out of 3) I would like to live near, his wife doesn't want me there. Only being able to get disability, thats $300.00 a month and medicare. I stay stuck.

Thank you badluckandtrouble. That is great advice for most women. I am 61 years old. I couldn't do school, my memory is horrible due to a few things with my brain. I can't sit at a desk for any length of time, I have the most horrible looking spine. I can't work on my feet. I have diabetes, and diabetes neuropathy. That's all thanks to the kind of pills they now advertise for a person to ask their doctor about if their antidepressant isn't good enough. The pills are really antipsychotics. They do help with the depression. Anyway I can't live alone anyway. I have lost 3 inches in height from scoliosis. The diabetes gave me early glaucoma and cataracts. I can survive here. I just wish I knew where I could find some friend's.

You can make the decision to stay or to go. Yoga will help you with scoliosis relief. Your eyes can be helped with surgery. You can make the change to live on your own in a living situation that gives you a chance to be "you". You can go back to school. You can make friends. However, each of these decisions have their consequences, and choosing to stay means nothing will change until you change how you think about what you have where you are at now. Low income housing, disability check, learning a new skill or a lot of new skills and finding "you" can happen. You are not alone.

No I am not alone. But really you do not know what it is like to try to read for fun with my brain, and I always loved reading. To try to learn something that I wouldn't have to sit at a desk or machine or something because I can't sit longer than an hour without walking around so my back doesn't get worse. Believe it or not my brain was at one time very good. But that didn't make it hard for me to love mt job as a seamstress making nightgowns in a little factory. But I now easily get tendonitis in fingers, wrists, elbows. I did the elbows in sanding the cabinets in my house 25 years ago. That's right I am only 61 years old but because of my health am praying very hard to see my 70th birthday. I am strong I am invincable. But only in mind and heart. I wrote the original thing on a bad day before I had a conversation with God (as usual) and became me again. I also had an epiphany that day. I am now devoted to Mother Mary in a more serious way than ever. So I will remember that instead of looking for understanding for an old body in a not that old aged person who has a young heart. It must be really hard dealing with feeling stuck. There are so many emotions that are going through your brain and you don't know where to start. I get it. In all honesty - I deal with a lot of victims of DV for my job and it is super hard to get out of that living situation. A lot of people get denied assistance to get their own place, and a lot of transitional housing have year long waitlists that always baffles me. My advice to you is on a daily basis do things to make you happy - to boost your moral. Go for a walk or read a book. Listen to relaxing music and have a cup of tea (or wine =) ). For a long term plan I would seek out a social service agency and try to put together a long term plan. you can get a case worker and they can help you with education, building a resume, job training. Things to get you on your way to independence. I wish you the best. Make yourself feel good, you are worth it.

Hurrah for prayer. That gives you peace of mind, ease of pain, and the path to healing. I know how hard it is to move around with joint pain, and I wish the best for you in healing. I agree with here to help in finding all that help you feel better.

Thank you both. After many classes about taking care of myself it may take a couple days but I do pretty good. In talking to my husband and my primary doctor, and me knowing the only times my husband gets so bad it can continue for a couple days, he has some stress working on him. We lost his wonderful dad last month. He was 91 years old and had been suffering a lot this year. Pretty sure it was my husbands time to come to terms with losing his dad. Luckily I had about a week before. Things have been very good since then. I used to be nasty too. So I can understand, it's just getting over the anger.

Hurrah for finding the "zone" of what's happening. Anger is hard to decipher, and harder to be calm around when you're already in anxiety mode of thinking. So sorry for the loss of his dad. I know what you mean about the "nastiness"-it's the one thing I remind myself that will not help me heal.
