Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well.
I'm not sure if I'm in the right group/place, but just really looking for advice.
I'm considering maybe trying to be in a relationship. It has been 3 years since my last one (which was awful) and the thought of going into one and allowing myself to open up makes my heart beat out of my chest.
I don't know exactly what causes it. I used to have pretty bad depression and anxiety which made act horribly when in a relationship, I was always full of paranoia and and anger and would ruin anything good I ever had. I managed to get myself sorted out after a 3.5 year relationship break-up and met someone who was worse than I ever was. My ex was controlling and played contant mind games which put me straight back into my depression and I started self harming again.
I have been happy and mostly stress free in the 3 years I have been single, but I do really like this guy, and although it is going to be incredibly hard work for the first part (he lives in Australia and I am currently in the UK, but moving to New Zealand in January) it could really pay off.
I'm not going to start anything until I meet him again... but when I was in Australia the time we knew eachother was amazing. I just need to know that I can handle it before I even get started. I'm so scared that I am going to lose something which could potentially be incredible because I just can't handle it. I really really want to be able to handle it.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

You have come to the right group! Best wishes.
Sorry I've only just replied, I haven't been back on here since putting up that post as I've been feeling pretty chilled until a few days ago haha! He caught me off guard and put forward the idea of making this a bit more serious and my anxiety went a bit crazy. I have now calmed down again. I told him that since we wont see each other until February we should keep it casual as I don't wanna hold him back if he meets someone else before then. I'm not worried about me meeting someone else as I am leaving the country in a few months and very used to being single.
Truth is though.... I am so scared that if I do say that I want us to be monogamous starting now (which is one of the things he suggested) it creates a large chance of me being heartbroken if he then decides he can't do it... or if when we do meet again in February he isn't feeling it. I just don't think I'm ready for that yet.
But in saying that.... I'm now worried that he feels I have turned him away in some way and now feels like he wants to get with other people. I really really hate the fact that he is half a world away and everything is just... an idea. Maybe I'm just too impatient. Good things come to those who wait and all
