General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi Im new. It started this morning I noticed the car. Our neighborhood is new so our street only has 4 houses my house is in the middle no one near us. The car was further down but still noticeable. It was old, gray the paint fading and chipping and just full of trash. No one was around though. just odd and out of place for our nice area. I was going to the store and I set the alarm just in case guess I felt paranoid even this morning. Hubby calls it my security blanket. After I got back I guess all my staring got it to move because it was gone but I felt maybe someone was just visiting it is the holiday weekend. I do know everyone on our street but not all of there extended family you know. Im not the nosey neighbor but do bring over goodies and babysit and chat when a couple of us walk our dogs. LOL maybe I am nosey. Anyways when I was making dinner late tonight around 830pm and went to take trash out the car was back but in a very different spot. This time it was under the light post just across and diagonally from my house. So from one end of the street to the other. Just totally freaked me out. I took the trash out walked back in. Turned on the alarm. Thought about it. We had a lot of cars come out last year and everytime I called police they might have been kids drinking. so if they seen me in the window on my cell they would leave. Well police would say if they came out again and no car I would go to jail. So this time I thought I would be smart and take a picture of the car since it was under the light. So I went around the back and the side we have a fence and used my cell to take a picture. When I did though a man came running through my yard and went across at me and down the street. Just scared the pee out of me. Now my husband is a paramedic I don't just call the police for no reason I know you need a reason to call them. But by then I was terrified I ran back in my house took my dog who when he didn't follow me around the yard I should have figured out something was wrong. My dog follows me everywhere. I flipped on the alarm and well first I tried calling my husband god knows what he would have done when he didn't answer I called the police. They came out and thank goodness the car was still there!!! They took all the info about the man and they were with the car for a while plus cruising the neighborhood hubby said. He is really trying to keep me together tonight Im like shaking after all this. The man must have come back though because an hour and a half or so later the neighborhood dogs and mine started barking like mad again and then when I went to look the car was gone. Its quiet now and peaceful but Im too shaken up too sleep. What if he comes back or tries to get in? I know I have my alarm system slash safety net and dog but in the back of my head Im thinking I might feel better with the bed bugs at a hotel tonight.
And don't worry after last year and the string of upsets with the teenagers Im 28 by the way but with an alcoholic dad and a sister who just had alcohol poisoning over thanksgiving I do call the police for underage teens. But I have been diagnosed with anxiety. This is just really triggering and I know it is frustrating for my husband. He works hard and I know how busy the police are with bigger things but for some reason sometimes no matter how hard to explain Im just really scared and like tonight when everything is right there I see every reason to call someone for help.

there has been considerable popular press on the social impact of misogyny (hatred of women). misandry (hatred of men) seems socially blessed. poor girl. how right you are to hate the evils of men. never mind that harboring hatred burns holes in your soul. those evil creatures are worthy of all the hate we can muster.i have 5 brothers, 5 sisters and 3 sons and 2 daughters. i hold that misandry is...

I doubt the guy in the car will come back. Whatever he was up to he probably saw the cops. You did not have a break in and you are fine so focus on that.
Maybe the anxiety worked well in this situation, because if not for your anxiety you may not have paid any attention to that guy and his car. And who knows what might have happened.
