Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I would see a dr - they may be able to provide some help for you.
When I've had similar issues, I've taken colace so my poos are softer. This helps prevent further injury.
Some people have also suggested brewing tea, cooling the bag and applying that to calm it. Others use some vasoline on the tear. There is also the sitz bath idea which you can get at your local drug store.
That said, speak with your doctor. These ideas may not be the best for your situation. If you can't get in to see the doctor but could call a healthline for ideas, that may also help.
You'll be okay. This is a fairly common issue and will likely begin to feel better in a few days and completely heal within a couple weeks.
I have heard people with fissures describe them as passing glass - they can be very, very painful, and could definitely have been caused by the previous constipation you described. A sitz bath is a good idea, as is a stool softener (NOT a laxative) so that it's easier to go. DO NOT hold it when you have to go even though going hurts. This will just cause constipation, and it's not good for your colon. It can take a fissure days to weeks to heal :( I'm really sorry about that, but if you have concerns or need anything else, you should call your doctor.
It could also be a hemorrhoid, for which similar treatments are appropriate.
In general, don't clean the area with harsh soap. You really don't even need soap at all, just a warm, soft cloth. Anything else can make the irritation and pain worse and actually delay healing.
Again, it's not a bad idea to call your doc, but in the meantime a sitz bath won't hurt anything.
