hubs is coming up on the first anniversary of his corporate retirement. by living measure, he didn't retire. he simplified the working equation. the second parenting career and our farm llc startup is quite enough to keep a working stiff hopping. the analogy i used to encourage his corporate retirement is, "you are taking orders from coal mining bosses while you are living in a gold mine." for sure, the past year has been far less stressful than the first two years of our second parenting career. the children are thriving on his increased presence in their lives.
last week hubby and our farm assistant launched their participation in a nearby farmer's market. it was a smashing success and the two are glowing intensely in the achievement. this morning finds hubby feeling what he calls, "pre-game jitters." he got through college on athletic scholarships. the sport analogies work exceptionally well for him. by whatever analogy, he is so excited this morning that the rest of the household is feeling the intensity. i have begun channeling exercises for the heightened intensity inside my own skin. the compost pile appreciated the sorely needed attention.
what am i reaching for here. just trying to find words for ^it^.

a common denominator i've found in every single one of my psychotic breaks is that what made perfect sense to me was clearly psychotic to the people around me. in my case, the crazy person really is the last to know. reality checks can be priceless in mental health inventories.
