Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I am 18 years old and I am slowly trying to become more independent and for me, that first step is to get a job. I've been wanting to get a job for a couple of years now, but I have school to worry about, plus my school attendence is terrible so I figure that nobody would want to hire me anyways. However, I am in alternative schooling and if I have a job, I can get a credit for every 68 hours that I work. I can earn up to 4 credits doing this so now getting a job has been a priority for me.
However, I still have a lot of anxiety because of my bad school attendence. The reason I missed so much school is because sometimes my depression and anxiety episodes make me sick. Literally sick. I also have chronic migraines which are more managble since I'm on medication but can still strike out of nowhere. I've applied to a few different places but I can't help but think that they won't want to hire me, even if I do explain my situation. My other problem is that I've never had a job before and most places want you to have previous work experience and besides babysitting for my aunt and uncle once in a blue moon, I've never had an actual job before. I'm probably gonna sound rude or something, but I really don't want my first job to be at a McDonalds. My stepmom used to work at one and she told me that it was hell for her.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Good luck finding something with the covid out.
There's a reason the rear view mirror is so small and the front windshield is so big.
Stay in the present.
Your past is just that.
Attendance is daily. Each day is a fresh day. Each day you attend is another day you've kept going.
In other words, instead of all the negative words, use positive words to promote your actions each day.
Medical information is private for a reason. Keep it private by staying quiet, and focus on the work you're going to be paid for.
Work only cares about the work getting completed properly. Work only cares that you show up ready and willing to work when scheduled.
Making a choice to become independent requires taking responsibility for your choices and actions. You are responsible for what you say, do, react, and respond.
Working at a fast food restaurant is one definite way to learn how the retail system works. It is not always a difficult experience, it can be challenging and it provides the necessary 'work' experience most places want to see that you are able to keep your word about working.
What you want, you will have to work for, both in mind and body.
If you want your well-being to improve, talk, act, and be positive towards yourself and what you are able to do.
Keep writing it out, and sort out your feelings.
You can do this!
I wish you all the best of luck in your job search.
Keep applying. Don't worry. Those credits sounds great. Maybe try a retail store? Employee discount there, too.
You will have fun, meet new people, make new friends... all fun times. I loved those first jobs I had! Had a great time and I made so many new friends that I didn't even have time for all my new found friends. We used to go out outside of work too. Met lots of nice people. Great memories.
Think about all the things you will buy with your paycheck. It helps to keep in mind something you want to buy, something fun. Something you will do with the money. Think about how good/fun/great it will be to have all that extra money coming in. When I got my very first paycheck, I was thrilled! Now I could finally buy my own things, and whatever I wanted to buy, and not have to ask my parents.
Good luck, you will be fine. Go get 'em! :)
