Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I think on some level you probably fear being happy. But I think the bigger issue is that you feel a constant urge to worry so you give yourself something to worry about.
I seriously, seriously doubt you are bi polar. Half the people that are diagnosed with bi polar aren't bi polar. Everything I have read says that it is a very over used diagnosis. You have the Charlie Sheen's out there who clearly have signs of bi polar......but a lot of the other ones just have some personality and anger issues that aren't related to a chemical imbalance in the brain.
Resist the urge to worry. Don't allow yourself to dwell on things that deep down you know are not real. Trust yourself to know the difference between what should be worried about and what shouldn't. If you continue to feed your worry addiction, the cycle will never stop. Good luck!
These don't happen when I'm on medication.
Don't freak out. It's not all that bad. remember that anxiety can absolutely make you think you are going insane and it can make you obsess over symptoms.
If you are very worried, then I suggest finding a therapist. Highs and lows don't necessarily indicate bipolar disorder - in fact, anxiety can cause a great deal of that.
The best person to diagnose you would be a psychiatric specialist, preferably one who deals a lot in personality disorders and anxiety disorders. Don't diagnose yourself.
