Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My anxiety has been minor for the past few weeks, mostly just anxiety attacks that i've been able to cope with after a while but last night it just overwhelmed me, everything hit me all at once and i had a massive panic attack, all the symptoms.. stomach ache, shaking, dread, fear, dry mouth, it was horrible and it took me forever to feel normal again.. My brother was drinking last night for his 22nd birthday (Yay!) and he also overate.. later on he threw up.. I am severely afraid of people throwing up/getting sick/complaining of any stomach pain because of past experiences and because I have this irrational fear that whatever is making them throw up.. will get to me eventually.. I know this is not logical because 1. I didn't drink last night and 2. I did not overeat and still 3. Everyone reacts differently to different things, So who even knows if i would get as sick as he is... He threw up once last night and he was okay for the rest of the night.. but I just woke up and he was upstairs spitting mucus out and clearing his throat (he has a mucus problem, sorry, i know it's gross :P) i was scared because i mistook that noise for the noise of someone vomiting.. then he came down and I am very paranoid that he threw up, he didn't say if he did or not because he knows that i am very anxious about it.. but i'm so paranoid and i'm wondering why he threw up again if he's fine...
*Sigh* I had a hard night, my anxiety hasn't been this bad in a while but I guess it's because I hold it all inside, i don't talk to people and then i just get so built up that i break down.. and now i'm already sensitive, so everything is putting me on edge... I'm scared that i'll have panic like this again, get stuck in a loop.
Any advice, help or anything to get me through this? I always forget how to cope.

I'm so sorry that you're struggling with all this anxiety! My cousin (who's more like a sister to me then cousin), has the same fear of people throwing up, and i get really panicked around people bleeding. Like I've passed out before when people bleed. It sounds like your anxiety was really triggered by this last night. Is it possible for you to get out of the house for a while with a friend or something? It seems that your anxiety is getting worse being home around your brother. I think it's really good that you have that insight into yourself that you hold things inside, don't talk and let things build up. So, you know you have to start opening up more so you don't let things build up in this way. Do you have friends that you feel comfortable talking to, or are you in therapy? This place can be a good place to just get things out too. (((hugs)))) hang in there ok?

This is kinda funny because my anxiety stems from being ill the opposite way, if you know what I mean. This doesn't make sense in the end it's just dumb to worry about it. I just have to remind myself it's no big deal, If I get sick, I'll be sick but I'll be fine in the end. If anything what we will get the flu...no biggie.
