General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I've been suffering with anxiety all of my adult life; I'm 67. When the anxiety attacks first occurred, I didn't have a clue what they were, only that those episodes were terrifying. I thought that these attacks, along with the ensuing panic, indicated I had a physical illness. At one point I even went to the emergency room.
For as many years as it's been around, I've been taking Xanax. However, now that I know that the attacks are not to taken seriously, I rarely have them.
I recall the anxiety attack I had during a job interview. I was in a panic and wanted to flee. But I realized that if I did that I'd never be hired. So I somehow marshaled my inner resources and got through the interview. I was shaken by the panic.
Eventually, I took Xanax only when I became apprehensive.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Here's to healing and to finding the better balance.
since i read your post this morning, i've found myself trying to visualize the scoring system by which we would determine that world's record. creating logs, etc., are among the things i have done for a living, so i have considerable skill in laying out such systems, but i think i'll let this one go and stand by my faith that every case of anxiety is so unique that every spin on the not-so-merry-go-round of anxiety is incomparable.
hope i'm not digressing too far off topic. i mostly wanted to welcome you to the forum, 67 year old to 67 year old.
