(HAPPENED 2/15 THIS PASED WEDNESDAY)
So, my computer locked today. I was given a number to call..........From what I thaught was Microsoft. They said, My network was compermised. And people from China were stealing large sums of money, To look at "Child Pornography" And the person I talked to at "microsoft" refered me to someone at truist, And that person gave prestty specific instructions on what to do about this thing. I made-up every eexcuse, I had something to do at home, I was gonna say: the back of of my knee hurt, and couldn't walk (which was true, It really did hurt) But, this guy said it needed to be done today. So, he told me what to do to protect myself, he told to book An uber, He stayd on the phone with me until I did, And walked me through the whole prosess, He told me to: withdraw $5,600.00 (i took about 4 or 5 uber's to do this) he told me to take $5,600.00 And put in an escro account, and he instructed me on how to do it all
He had me stop at a gas station and do the trasaction with bit coin. Luckily the uber driver that droped me off stayed in the parking lot, and came in the gas station to ask me about this, I told him (The truist "Banker" even told me not to say ANYTHING about this to anyone, The uber driver was nice told me that he had of a heard similar thing happening: and was nice enough to drive me to my truist branch to re-deposit the money. And, I asked the banker if she'd ever heard of this guy, And branch manager overheard me and ask me so, I told her I had to go back and close my checking account, and open another one. Banker said she had heard, and a women got scammed out of money. So, thank god I didn't actually wire the mony (or "escro" the money.
Now, I'm thinking if the uber driver's who drove me around from bank to bank, and the gas station: Are they gonna get in trouble and am I gonna get in trouble, for being an accrssory to a crime.
That'a why I'm holding off on the law.
I hate myself, for falling for it, I even tryed to tell my father about all this, But, He isn't a very patint person, If he ever found out that I actually took 5,600 out of the bank He freak out. I know i'm 46 Year's old, Still have to live by their rules, I can never learn from my misteaks i SILL get yelled at, I can remember my dad telling my brothers When I was a boy "U live under my roof u live by my rules" and i deel like I'm not aloud to take chances.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Recently I had a scammer contact me via email that my Geek Squad service was set to expire and how to renew it. Everything in my email looked legit, the email address, the email branding (and the email was well written, no bad grammar or misspelled words which is often a telltale sign it’s not legit) but something still didn’t feel right.
So I called the number listed instead of doing anything electronically, to ask more questions. Sure enough, as soon as I talked to the person, I knew it was garbage. They said they could only take payment by me through my bank, something about they didn’t accept a credit card and kept pressuring me for my bank account info, that it was a rush because my service was about to end. I told the guy, you are a piece of shit criminal and hung up. I found the legit Geek Squad number and reported it to them.
You could this report it to Microsoft. Sometimes companies will email their customers or post on their website if there is a lot of fraud activity, just reminding folks how that company typically contacts their customers, what to be out on the look out for.
Glad you had people around to help you navigate the situation. Not you could also contact your bank and ask them who to report it too if you feel it would be helpful. But I wouldn’t worry so much about anyone reporting you. All you can do is learn from the experience and don’t let yourself get in that situation again.
