Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I don't, and no flips given. It's not to say that I dislike all people, but the people that I like are fewer.
I have no problem throwing down.
Is this a "good" thing? It's not supposed to be socially acceptable, but I think I have always been this way. I put on a front for the sake of fitting in, to keep a job, etc. Down deep there are some people I have no respect for. On the other hand, there are other people that I reallly admire.
We are forced to put on a front to stay out of trouble and to keep our nose clean so to speak.
I'm losing my tolerance these days, though. I have felt right on edge in public since this whole pandemic started.
Today I was trying to just pick up a few things at the drugstore and was standing there not wearing a mask. Don't have to. No policy. Been wearing one for two years and IM DONE. Been vaccinated three times. What else now?!? Unless I'm in a hospital or some other thing I'm not doing it. Some dude behind me starts harassing me and telling me people need to start wearing masks. I told him I'm not interested and to leave me alone. He kept at it so I started screaming at him as loud as I could to shut up. I walked away.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

i'd still rather be a chicken than a people, especially here in coronaville. to the best of my knowledge, THEY still haven't gotten around to masking chickens yet. cluck cluck. . . increasing social distance now. . .
I"m not sure if we're completely similar but I've dealt with a lot of anger issues. I too have yelled at many. Unfortunately I drove a lot of people close to me away. That was a mistake, a huge mistake.
I'm trying now to find a better balance of standing up for myself, but also being more tolerant with others. Trying to find the good in what they do. I was too judgmental.
rmb - you mention not liking the current culture. Not completely sure what you mean by that but I'm also struggling with current culture of the youth. Maybe I'm just getting old but many seem disrespectful.
To me youth today are no different today than youth in my day. The times are just different. Most youth are just… youth: brains not fully developed, rebellious, think they know everything, yadda, yadda, yadda. But I see how some adults act and think, well how can we expect anything else from their kids?
My feeling is when we dislike people we are essentially disliking ourselves because we are all messy sometimes, challenging, irrational. It’s the human condition, whether we want to believe that or not. But that’s just my
take on things. I don’t like people who mistreat or abuse animals, children or the elderly or other similarly situated vulnerable beings. Beyond that, on an even playing field. I could care less what people do or say. But again that’s just my perspective. I get others may see people differently.
then we get to the marshal law mandated masking and social distancing of coronaville. . . hope for humanity is harder than ever to come by.
personally, i'm finding my hope in taking what i like and leaving the rest. small steps, big faith and lots of prayer. i also mind my pronouns. if i can't attach strictly personal names and faces to THEM, i assume i'm dancing with assumptions again. i can't know what lives behind the mask until the wearer takes the mask off. does it really matter if the mask is metaphorical or literal? i still can't wear a literal mask but my metaphorical masking hides allot more than any literal mask ever could.
It’s interesting to me. I was watching a documentary recently and it showed a lot of footage from the late 60s and early 70s, like the Kent State massacre, war protests, civil unrest, etc. I had a moment of realizing crazy times and crappy people have just always been, like every decade or generation contends with bad times and bad apples. Maybe the difference is now everything is filmed and accessible on phones, devices, TVs. So it feels like a constant assault of people behaving badly. We spend so much time watching these things play out I swear it alters who we are.
Maybe the best we can do is to not categorize people, take each one at face value based on their own merits so we don’t feel like one person represents an entire group.
Good conversation by the way!
