It's very likely that whatever this is, it will pass and you'll feel better soon. But it's not healthy to go hungry and often healthy foods are inexpensive - if you go to a farmer's market at the end of the day, often they'll give you food so they don't have to cart it back. Rice and split peas or lentils from the bulk bins at a health food store are affordable as well. A lot of grocery stores also often have an area where they mark down foods that are a bit older or slightly damaged. You can ask someone who works there if they have things they will be tossing at the end of the day. And there are food banks as well and they can often help.
I've started keeping a notebook of things that help me to feel better with chronic conditions that I have because I don't remember what helped! That way, the next time this comes up for you you can provide yourself with some comfort and have a good game plan.
