Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I feel like I'm lost and often feel empty from inside. The feeling that I'm disappointing everyone around me and that I'm worthless just won't go away. I was a good student going to college but I have to change career paths for now due to some circumstances. But I keep on avoiding studying. I haven't attended any classes properly this semester. And the feeling of worthlessness just keeps on intensifying and I feel an urge to punish myself somehow. I don't live in my home country. I feel like dying when I think of the disappointment that my parents will feel when they find out I might not pass two of the course because I've always been an A student. There's this pain in my chest that just won't go away. I'm wasting every single day and I don't know what I'm doing with my life. I think I don't deserve this life. I think I'll go crazy...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
You have a long term goal - now concentrate on the steps you need to get going on to make that goal.
Look for things to do that will help you learn more about where you are at. Find ways to relax.
You're on an adventure, make the most of it.
Reading your post carried me back to 2007/08 when I was attending a university in Ecuador. By the end of the first semester, I was feeling severe culture shock and unable to do, think or feel much of anything without spinning off into symptoms much like you describe here. I wasn't able to finish the second semester. I grew up in the US where you can find foreign students making the foreign exchange look easy in most every class. Yet another thing which looks easier from the outside than it does from the inside?
I don't know if that bears any similarity to your case, or not, but? ? ?
I hope you'll feel safe to sort your own case here. Gentle support while you sort. You are not alone. Welcome aboard.
When I was in college, I failed in one of my subjects. I was worried that my parents would be disappointed. When I talked to them about my failed subject, their first reaction was sad but I still feel their love for me.
I am a mom now and when I knew that my son failed in one of his subjects, though I was sad I still show him my unconditional love for him. Based in my experience as a Mom, I can be angry with my son but it’s only for a while. My Mom was also like that. So talk to your parents so they will know the things you are going through.
You can also talk to a professional counselor. In local churches, they offer free counseling. If you have a trusted friend that you can confide in, it would be great as well. I hope you can get the help you need. Please keep us posted, we are here for you.
Prying for you for peace and strength as you go through this and success in everything you do.
