Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I tried roller skating about 10 years ago and, at the time, I had not strapped on roller skates for over 15 years...It was not pretty... And THANK GOD they had 'normal' roller skates and not just roller blades. roller blades...can we say 'broken hip' .... lol! It is amazing the number of muscles roller skating uses and how quickly those muscles become...like jelly.
I would have loved roller dancing! That must have been such a fun and rewarding experience. If we lived closer together I'd go with you!
I'm also a huge reader and sometimes just reading a magazine or good book helps me to come down.
Cooking...I only just started cooking about 3 years ago and I now find it to be very rewarding. Not only do I get to create but I also get to consume. My friends love it because I use them as guinea pigs all the time.
Design....I am an interior designer and getting lost in a design is very meditative for me....hours can pass!
Pinterest....is awesome...once you learn how to use it.
DS...this site is enlightening.
Meditation....I am starting meditation online with Oprah and Deepak sometime in April....check on the oprah website if interested. Never gave much time to meditation before so I am going to give it my all and see what happens.
Lucky....in the summer I would love nothing more then for you to come to my house and pull all the weeds you would like...haha!
Music....I love my Pandora radio station. I love all types of music anything from Funk to Big Band. I would love to hear some of cjdb's music...guitar music has such a way with ones emotions, anywhere from making you want to dance to bringing a tear to your eye. Is there anyway you could put a clip onto this site?
My all time favorites though are listening to crickets in the summer and staring at water....lakes oceans, ponds....it doesn't matter. The way light reflects off of water never gets old for me.....very relaxing!!!
Great Post!
Adventureguide, I also love to sit and look at the water. Fire is very relaxing, too. A campfire, or fireplace fire, especially when the embers are glowing. Even gazing at a candle can be very meditative.
Somebody mentioned drawing, sigh! I so wish I could draw anything recognizable! I am seriously bad at it, but I still doodle with pencil, and draw dorky, you have 3 guesses on what it is, drawings, hehe. I attempted a dolphin that turned out looking like a disfigured pickle. My kids love it.
My daughter started doing dorky drawings too. I got one of their old school folders, and we keep them to look back on, when we need a good giggle. Just saying that you do not have to be good at something, to still have fun!
I also like crafts. I found a new one I want to try. You can take old tee shirts, cut them in strips, and then braid them to make rugs. There also videos on YouTube, you can watch.
Here's one of the links....

I loved all the oldies from the 40's through the early 70's as well as classical. My teacher didn't like ragtime....but I fell in love with it when "The Sting" came out in the early 70's. I played "The Entertainer" over and over.....drove my mom nuts...lol.
I have tons of great memories (and a few cassettes) filled with me playing the piano and double pianos with my piano teacher (RIP).
I know I'll own a piano again someday. It's so relaxing and what I consider heaven on earth :)
Hmmm I now have a new relaxing visualization!
Thanks for reminding me!
For me and i work 3rd so if im not being entertained i can get sleppy lol
But i try to color with my kids ,listen to music, movies! But lately movies have been making me anxious.i also like to drink while i cook .i think being active is best..me just hanging out with my 3 kids can relieve myanxiety and other days its like i struggle and only a pill will help. Especially when your mind wont stop. I like tennis also.
MsBlank, I took piano lessons for four years and I remember playing the Entertainer! I wasn't that great, but it was fun and I learned to appreciate music. I think every child should learn an instrument at some point.
Yesterday, my husband and I tackled the yard and started our spring planting. We have a corner of our yard that is wet and shady and I decided I'm going to create a rock garden there with some ferns and other plants that enjoy shade. I'm super excited about it!
I have to say, I felt great after spending the day working in the sun yesterday. The weather was perfect!
I use to have an area that attracted butterflies.....but it brought bees as well! LOL
I also want a bird bath cuz I love to bird watch all the different birds that visit my yard :)
