I dont know if you have always felt this way or if this is new for you, but in my case, i have severe anxiety and although I am in therapy, I am also on medications too.
I am not saying that this is what you need, only you will know that. But honestly, without these two things in combination, I would not have made it.
Ask yourself, how is this affecting my daily life? Is this overwhelming me and preventing me from enjoying my life. If the answers are yes....then I highly recommend you seek a good therapist for counseling, and if need be, a good psychiatrist for medications.
The point is, you shouldnt have to feel this way and again, it is no way to go through life. There is help out there, as talking about it here is also a help. No also that you are NOT alone. There are millions of people who suffer in silence so I applaud you for posting here.

on meds. And have zanax for emergency use. Just been through a
very bad, stressful winter. And now mom comes up with new problems. Causes me stress and anxiety. Guess I have to keep
working on anxiety and not give up. Therapy and meds did help a whole lot. Just things get bad now and then.

I have suffered all my life too and also have it combined with some pretty profound depression. I understand how it is worse under more stressful conditions in our lives.
I am currently going through the divorce from hell and even have a battle this Tuesday for the custody of my special needs son. I am just sick over it. BUT...I am trying to use mental techniques as well. Such as, staying in the moment, trying to not think about what my worst fears are, using the "white box" technique and some other mental "games" I play with myself.
I see that you are also under some extra stress right now with your mother as you mentioned. These are the times when it is so good that you have reached out to talk about your feelings. This website is a Godsend in my opinion and I am glad you found your way here. Rely on us as your support and remember, you are not alone!
The things that seem to calm anxiety the most are things like soaking in the tub, snuggling with a cat, eating something really delicious, meditating, listening to music.
