Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

and mind turn off the anxiety/energy/thoughts. I know it's horrible - I hope you can find a system that works for you.
Just talking about it sometimes helps too. Peace..
What have you tried so far?
Ive been battling those monsters for years, and they seem to creep up on me when I feel weakest. Sigh, there will be bad days and good days, and I am learning to make friends with those monsters but thats something else thats too deep and complex to write about here.
My counselor said instead of suppressing it, let it come. scary as that sounds, just think of it as waves. coming and going, letting it go. Thats why a lot of people recommend mindfullness, help you stay grounded through those feelings. Its different for everyone but Id recommend it! and I like the tips already said here like walking or focusing on your breath. What helps me is thinking of things that make me happy! hope that helps & you find peace soon
there was always that worry that I was 'talking to myself' but I have realized we all talk to ourselves, that's half the reason many of us are here because we listen to hard criticism in our own head.
Self-value starts with self-care against self-loathing and self-abuse. You are one of the nicest people on here, always giving a kind and sympathetic word to those in need. Tell that to those disturbing thoughts with a hard slap!!!
Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my post as I lay awake struggling each night not knowing what to do with these thoughts and them eating away at me while I’m tossing and turning till the sun comes up.
Honestly I try and not come on here and talk or open up anymore, more so just to give encouragement and support to others as that in turn makes me feel good to be there and do good, if I can at all. It’s one thing I hope I can be good at.
I don’t allow myself to open up, cry or let myself be emotional anymore, I bury it, hide it, shut it down. As I don’t know that if I allow it to come back I’ll be strong enough to get through it again.
I’m unfortunately not able to go see anyone, nor exercise, go for walks etc. I’m stuck indoors 24/7 alone. I’m recovering (although not doing it well) from an operation, and will be for some time.
Nights are my worst. It’s so quite, dark, and nothing to distract me. And I just can’t seem to get ahold of all that goes on in my head and it just takes over, and won’t stop no matter what I do. It goes on night after night....
Sometimes it scares me :(
But I’ll be ok, I don’t have a choice. I just have to learn to live with this as I have everything else.
I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles. Praying for you that recovering from operation will go well and things will be fine for you as well.
I hope you will feel comfortable sharing your feelings in the forum. You can also try to write down your feelings on the journal to express the emotions you are going through. It works for me every time I am going through something, I hope it will work for you too. Try also to listen to soothing music or worship songs to help you fall asleep. I hope you will get the help you need. Please stay strong, we are here for you. Please keep us posted.
