Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
hello all
my wife moved back in back in June after 3 months of separation.
She suffers from depression and anxiety and all I want to do is help.
I am so worried that no matter what I am doing is not right and will eventually push her away again. She is seeing a therapist now which is the first time that she has done this through our 3 year struggle.
My question to all is how can I help. anyone that suffers anxiety and/or depression.... how can I help. We have two children and I want always show them that When someone needs help you always do what you can. I feel that I have hit a wall and don’t know what to do.
Thank you all in advance for your input.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
When he simply listens, lets me trust my therapy network and gives me votes of confidence, I feel like I can move mountains.
You are NOT responsible for what your wife does, says, or her reactions.
This being said, means you need to think through your feelings and have a positive connection to finding a solution that works to keep your well-being at a comfortable level.
There are times when you listen and just listen. It is not that you need to "fix" or "repair" or "help" further, it is just you listening without doing anything else. That moment of listening and letting the person express their experience, their feelings, and their perspective is a direction of encouragement, understanding, and supporting their conversation.
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Best wishes!
I honestly truly try to listen without acting or trying to fix.
My fixing comes from hearing her what drives her anxiety and next time the something happens I handle it. Whether it’s the kiddos, dog, cats...anything...
she says she appreciates what I do for her and respects that I want to take care of her and she says she wants to take care of me... I really do enjoy that although I think that side has been missing for a long time I realize this is about getting her the help she needs and hopefully that will end up rewarding the both of us.
First of all, even though it is a challenge, be glad that she is home and that you have an opportunity to help her win this battle. This will also give you kids a chance to give back and show their love for her. In many cases, kids in these situations actually show more maturity than others. And this time around might be better because she is getting therapy for the first time. Give it time.
In the meantime, if I were in your shoes, I would also read up a lot about these topics. I am talking about books or audiobooks, not just blogs or posts, something that would give you a good comprehensive bird’s eye view of what is really going on. When you post, normally the situation has already arisen, and I do encourage you to continue posting, but when you read a book, more often, it helps you prepare how to handle a situation before it arises and things to watch out for.
