Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have bad anxiety. Anxiety to the point where I don't know I'm doing stuff. I scratch at my arms when I'm in an anxiety attack but since we got our dog I haven't really had bad anxiety. I have tried to get my parents to budge about letting me get an ESA or and emotional support animal. I think it would help but they think it's just a crutch. They think I will start relying on other things but they want to put me on meds. I say no to meds. There's other things I can do. I don't like the thought of meds because I was on them before and I stopped taking them without my parents knowing. They tried to force me to take them again but I didn't. My mom took me to a doctors appointment and lied to me till we got there. I hate that she did. I hate that they lie to me and they don't trust me. I hate that I don't have support. I hate it all. They give me anxiety and they cause anxiety attacks because of PTSD. It's all stressful. Everything gives me anxiety and I want someone to talk to about it. I just needed to get that off my chest. And with the holidays anxiety is hightened because I have to be around a ton of people. It's not fun and it's tiring and I'm really sick right now but they could care less. It's all about school and do this and that. It's giving me more and more anxiety and I don't know how to tell them this. I don't know how to talk to them anymore. It's all scary. It's all stessful. Other than Maggie, our dog. She's so sweet and she has her problems but I want to help her and I feel that that will help distract me from my really bad problems. Though I know I will have to deal with them adventually I know it's not going to be easy but I need some help. Thank's for listening to my rant.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
My dog (and all my dogs before her) is/have been the best anxiety medication I have ever found. Even when she is being a pain in the arse, Persilly helps me feel safer in this crazy old world. To my senses, all animals are ESA. I feel more connected with the world when I have animals in my life.
Nope, living with anxiety ain't nothing easy, but it's easier when we don't try to do it alone. Hope you find steadying companionship here. Welcome aboard.
It seems like a psychologist or counselor would give you some relief, someone to talk to who can listen to you and help treat the anxiety you're experiencing.
I'm sorry your parents lied to you about the appointment, it may be hard to see but they only want the best for you and your mental health. Mentioning to them that you are feeling especially stressed out and anxious would help your situation I think, and I'm sure they would help you find a counselor to speak with.
Animals are scientifically proven to help anxiety, and distracting yourself from the anxiety isn't the same as becoming depending on something to avoid it. Spend as much time with Maggie as you can, dogs can sense your anxiety and it seems like she helps a lot.
As for your next step in this process finding a psychologist is key, especially for PTSD - there are many effective treatments that help people live completely normal and anxiety free lives!
Don't give up, and try to focus on healthy activities that bring you relief and comfort (like Maggie!) and once you find a psychologist who can help you and who you can talk to I have a feeling your mental health will begin to get better day by day.
Don't give up, things will get better and anxious feeling cannot and will not last forever - you are loved and will get through this!!
