Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

records every heart beat. They can see if its something more serious.
My cardiologist says its normal to have maybe 30 a day, most of which you dont notice. If it would help relieve your anxiety , its worth talking to your doc about it. The monitor is the size of a small radio and has several wires hooked to your chest. You barely notice its there. Just cant get it wet.
Hope you feel better fast!
I suffered from heart palpitations since as a child that obviously is not normal. I am now 46 years old and still alive, so palpitations will not kill you. I only hated experiencing palpitations in the middle of the deep end of a swimming pool. Doctors told me that this is something I would have to learn to live with but that was news I did not want to hear.
The two worse palpitations I had was once at college. I could not get my heart to get back into the right rhythm. I was walking with a friend telling him that I need to get to the campus hospital because everything was blackish/yellow in my vision. Sort of like rising to your feet too quickly and you see stars. The other type was when I was taking a vitamin fizzy drink but suffering lack of sleep at the time. For almost 24 hours, my heart kept pausing every few minutes. I laid in bed because any movement would trigger these palpitations. My heart would pause for nearly 3 seconds before beating again. It freaked the hell out of me.
Over the years I learned things about managing my palpitations. Obviously, caffeine, stress, and lack of sleep can trigger palpitations but I learned that high carbs and sugar is another culprit. I am not completely off of sugar as I still like my ice cream and other things, but I keep my sugar/carb intake to a certain level. Be careful of low carb diets because jumping into such a diet can trigger serious palpitations, and I found that out the hard way. If one chooses a low carb diet then you want to gradually work your way into it to allow the body to adjust. I am not on any low carb diet. I just try eating better carbs.
I found that certain products triggered palpitations. Beware of allergy medicines and even certain fizzy vitamin drinks. I was taking Emergen C fizzy drinks and it triggered terrible palpitations. It contains something called "purified fructose" that is said to be worse than sugar itself. Others reported the same problem with that product. It does not mean that you will suffer palpitations from it but sometimes you have to examine the things you have been taking or even eating that might be connected to palpitations.
My sister had serious palpitations and found it was connected to juicing fruits. A spike in blood sugar or a drop in blood sugar can trigger them. This does not mean that it will affect you that way but it is good to rule out things. I personally love orange juice but I have to have only a small glass of it to prevent problems.
I found that eating too much pasta or pizza especially later in the evening and if I slept like crap the night before triggered palpitations. I often noticed a sluggish feeling connected to the palpitations. I now eat pastas or pizza earlier in the day and not near bed time. I stopped drinking pop with the pizza and now guzzle water instead.
I found that starting my night off on my right side triggered palpitations. I have to start on my left side for a while before turning over.
Another thing I discovered is that a bad bed can trigger palpitations. If I ever woke up with back pains is often when I had palpitations.
I thought bananas would help but learned they did not help. Bananas are high in sugar and low in fiber, so I had to eliminate that from my diet. Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries did not cause me problems. I am only speaking about my experience here. Everyone is different.
You said you are trying GasX and I have read that helps some people, so I am happy that is working for you. It could prove helpful to you since stomach bloating and palpitations are connected. You have a vegus nerve there that can get irritated causing palpitations.
What cured my problem was something I discovered by accident. It was low sodium V8. It contains nearly 900mg of potassium. If I did have a palpitation then it was often mild and very brief.
It was when I added magnesium supplement to my diet that the palpitations disappeared entirely. I now have a tall glass of low sodium V8 in the morning and I take my magnesium supplement.
I have tried L-Taurine (never buy DL- products because it means it is synthetic). L-Taurine helped some in the past and it certain does not hurt. It is known to strengthen the heart rhythm.
I have changed my diet somewhat, as I now eat more spinach and green leafy foods. I did find that lowing the carbs helped my GERD and it makes me feel more calm. If I slept bad then I make sure I do not eat too much carbs or sugar that day. Pastas seem to sit in my gut longer and it can create gas.
Some might tell you that whey protein can help. I found that taking whey protein triggered palpitations when taken alone. Liquid protein diets are dangerous but whey might be helpful when taken with a meal. I personally stayed away from it. I prefer to get my protein from my food.
My two cents does not work for everyone as there are different causes for palpitations. Thyroid problem can be one of them. You almost have to tell your doctor to rule out everything because they often only do a halter monitor and simply will say that your palpitations are benign and that you will have to learn to live with it.
All I can say is that if your palpitations continue is to start a journal. Look at the labels to see how much carbs and fiber it contains. I like anything that is around 20 grams of carbs or less with fiber in it. I still have meals with around 100 grams of carbs in it but I will juggle how I eat throughout the day. I might have a very high carb meal but my meals before that might have been low. These things have worked for me.
