Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello everyone! I have been dealing with anxiety and ocd issues for as long as I can remember. I have been diagnosed with both. Growing up I had major health anxiety but it calmed down in the past 5 years or so with new worries taking precedence. It has been coming back in the past month pretty bad, though.
Recently I noticed that when I lift my arms above my head and then lower them, I get a weird buzzing feeling in my left foot. It seems to correlate directly with the movement of my arms. I noticed this when doing yoga positions. Of course I have been lifting and lowering my arms over and over again to "test" if I feel the buzzing. Usually I do. I have also noticed that now that I am focusing on it my foot has been tingling in general too. I am not sure if this is something that could be an issue or if it is just me being hyper aware of my body and that people without anxiety wouldn't notice it or wouldn't worry about it. I definitely have always been hyper aware of my body and have had issues with worrying about weakness/tingling/etc in the past. But I don't think I have ever noticed it specifically correlating with movement. Any advice? Thanks everyone!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
My first thought was hyper vigilance and awareness which in my experience seems to amplify every feeling and sensation in my body.
My other thought is if you really think there is something medically going on, maybe it would help to check in with your doctor.
Finally, are you staying hydrated, or are you perhaps standing in a manner that is aggravating your foot. I feel like by standing and raising your arms, you are focusing your strength and balance onto your core but also your legs so maybe it’s just a little too much pressure being put on your foot. Standing too long cause tingling in feet too.
A not so funny part of my own anxiety/OCD is that whatever I obsess on will manifest symptoms. If I obsess hard enough on the possibility of growing second and third heads, lumps will begin to form on my shoulders.
I work to pull my thoughts away from the object of my obsession to the simpler fact that I am obsessing. Ply psychotherapy tools here.
Or. . . Hat shopping is fun. My second and third heads need hats of their own.
But that is me and every case is unique. . .
Steadying support while you solve the mysteries of your own case.
Welcome aboard.
I don’t believe it’s me putting pressure on my foot because I do feel it if I am sitting down and raising my arms. However, it isn’t as noticeable when I am sitting.
I wondering if I have “riled up” my nerves while worrying this past month and that’s why it is more noticeable?
It is also entirely possible to ply therapy tools here. I get more out of life when I am not chasing down pointless theories. The tools work if you work 'em.
