I am a hypochondriac. On the 22nd I had a heart catheterization. I will tell the true story as it unfolds. It is not over yet. I think it will be interesting. Please see the recent post "Fellow Hypochondriacs" for the background. It seems that people do not like the term hypochondriac and prefer health anxiety problem. So I will try to be politically correct here. So this is for all the health anxiety sufferers. I am one of you. I suffer.

I will look that up Gooch! I don't understand why people don't like hypochondriac? Isn't that the definition of health anxiety? I'm a hypochondriac err... health anxiety person and I don't mind. I think we should all just call ourselves what we are comfortable with. Not take it personally when someone says hypochondriac. Part of our problem is being too sensitive. Lets not create arguements over something like this people! Sticks and stones and its just a word.

What is catheterization for your heart Gooch? Sounds painful! I hope it wasn't too bad for you!

Thanks PEACE-----------I am comfortable with hypochondriac for myself but I don't think I can connect with others unless I use health anxiety as the key word. That is OK.
A heart catheterization mainly checks for blockages in the heart arteries by using a little tube they put in your leg artery. They run that tube up the aorta into each one of the heart arteries. That part doesn't hurt. Sounds bad but is OK. If they find a blockage they open it up.
Yes the CT SCAN is a worry. What the hell is that for? I will let you know.

If there is anyone that wants to follow along about a breathing problem stay tuned. I will call the cardiologist tomorrow and ask for
his instructions. This may be interesting since I am a hypochondriac.
