I've been there. If everything that was said there is true, I would have died a long time ago.

AnxietyFreak40- I had a small cancer scare about a month ago. Everything pre-cancerous was removed but it left me with a ton of health anxiety. Now anything and everything that I feel I get very scared and my anxiety goes through the roof.

Dr Google can be a friend if you use it as an adjunct to coming up with good questions to ask your doctor instead of self-diagnosis. The questions I have come up with have significantly effected the quality of recovery in both mental and physical health.

Hey, I understand where you are coming from. After my mom had cancer I went a little Dr. Google crazy myself. I eventually started seeing a health coach, she was a dietitian/marriage and family counselor. She helped me organize my questions and create a plan that worked for my physical and mental health. But I definitely had to give up google. Good luck.

ok..so I was asking to say if the Dr. cleared you..then stop looking at google. If you feel like there is really something wrong then go to the doctor. otherwise you are just feeding the illness. Mucho Hugs!!

I have friend who has anxiety because of a list of things. Plus it doesn't take much to upset them. When they hear something, it makes them so upset that they lose sleep over it. They too stay on the computer looking up things that relate to how they are feeling or what some doctor or nurse said to them. Yes I agree that searching the computer can make a person feel worse. It's like when they are told not to check their blood pressure too often or their temperature because they will get upset over the numbers; one of the first things that come to mind will be "I'm having a heart attack". or they'll say "my temperature is rising. Have anyone ever experienced checking blood pressure and viewing the number on the blood pressure thing or check your temperature constantly and then get upset after seeing the number? If so what did you do about it?
