Hi I suffer from anxiety and depression. It is affecting my life to the point I am not able to work right now. I have suffered for almost 21 years now. I have been on prozac, celexa and lexapro for the depression and buspar, atvin and now xanax for the anxiety. the xanax works really well for the anxeity. doc is wanting me to start remeron. i did some on line research on this drug. i found horrible stories about side affects to the point i am scared to death to take it now. i plan on calling the doc back tomorrow and seeing if there is something else that i might be able to try. anyone have any input before i decide on what to do??????????????

Cindy - I take Remeron every night so that I can sleep through the night. I have been on it for many years, and really no side effects. It helps me to sleep a good 8 hours without waking up. So far it has worked very well for me. I would not be afraid of the side effects. Sometimes when you research a drug, it can really scare you. What exactly is your doctor putting you on it for ?

Cindy - I have had no problems with Remeron. I have taken it for 8 years for anxiety... it works !! and as Sugar09 says.. it does help you sleep .. It is will worth a try.

Remeron is one of the best antidepressants as far as side effects go. It is good for those "extra sensitive" people, such as the elderly or ill people. However, it still has the problem of causing next day tiredness and can make you kinda dizzy. It reduces anxiety quite well. However, a couple weeks into it, it was making me more depressed than before. Anxiety was gone though. Made me a little irritable sometimes, wanting to yell at people.

and I rarely ever want to yell at people. I'm more of an avoider.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
