Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Now, I have very few gagging attacks but I went to 7 months of therapy and am on two medications but I have a prn medication in case of an attack. I now can go through the day without an attack and I do awesome. But it was quite the struggle I went though. It does get better. I am a little more emotional now; however, I would take that over gagging any day!
One thing I never did was I never let my gagging stop me from anything; however, my best friend did not want to hang out with me because of it. And that friendship of 12 years is pretty much not the best now.
As when I was at my worst and had frequent attacks gagging was my was of removing the "tension" the uncomfortable feelings. Now I don't truly gag that much, like I said I do not remember really my last attack. But have my emotions been there, yes!
I think the best thing you can do for the gagging is get help whether it is through just therapy, therapy/drugs It really did help me a lot. I'm not cured from the anxiety but I know how to handle it and I will over come this. It is just a rough bumping road right now.
I use to have gagging attacks to the point of throwing up and it was hard but the way I got them to stop was a proper antidepressant and therapy. I did an antidepressant in the past; however, it did not work for me well as I did not mix the therapy with it. I think it is wise to do both and I never understood why or believed other people until I went through the process.
