I had been coping well with my anxiety for the past few months, but it seems to be getting pretty bad again. We've had a few big life changes, so I can understand the anxiety. However, we are going on vacation in a few weeks, and for the past month, I've been struggling with the fact that I have to get on a plane. I've been on a plane before, but still. It is NOT one of my favorite passtimes. I'm finding myself waking up in the middle of the night with my heart absolutely pounding, because I am dreading this flight. It's so bad, I'm just ready for the vacation to be over already, so I can be back home, and safely on the ground.

Best wishes for a wonderful vacation!
Hope the vacation is worth the sacrifice, JayLee. May cherished memories and a well-bonded family be your just reward.
Something to chew on, like gum or beef jerky, can help with the pressure in your middle ear. the stomach jolts and channeling that nervous tension.
Rooting for you to have a wonderful vacation, despite the anxious spot.
i just have to remind myself to focus on the positive and know that nothing bad is going to happen. i agree with everyone in that you should make a little sanctuary for yourself on the plane. i really enjoy listening to silly podcasts to get my mind off of whatever is bothering me. i would try to zone out as much as possible and just imagine i were in my bed - my favorite place :)
i know you will have a wonderful vacation. please tell us all about it!
Go up a few thousand feet, and then jump out of the plane. Trust me..... After that, the flying parts a breeze!
